One sure fire way to get a good pump is to focus on mentally connecting with the movement you are doing, and sometimes it is easier to do so by not counting reps, nor focusing on a full range of motion. Instead, focus on the range of motion that you feel activates the muscle most, and ditch the rep counter for a few sets and just pump it out.
