Angela Mcllroy-Wagar performs a circus dance in blue and red light.
I concentrated on the a red light theme and a blue light theme with the lighting specialist that I worked at Cirque Éloize to come up with this circus dance.
A little history of the project
Angela is an Irish/Canadian contortionist and aerial hoop artist that I recently filmed at the circus space of Cirque Éloize in the old port of Montreal. I did it so that she could have video to put together a demo of what she wants to showcase in her next acts. She needed to film her aerial silks demo and her straps demo. She also needed to show her new costume based roughly on a corset inspired look. We did both video and photo during this shoot. She asked me to send her the uncut video so that she could work on her own demo but I really like to work on something artistic with the stuff lying on the cutting room floor.
I shopped for some circus music in the Epidemic Sound library and found a piece by Gavin Luke called Drifting Among Strangers which was perfect for the type of movement Angela does in this video.

I filmed everything in 60p and edited on a 24p timeline. I duplicated all the footage and interpolated the duplicated footage to 24p to be able to get true slow motion video. I filmed the following with a whole bunch of cameras. Here is the list:
The close up shots are done with the Panasonic FZ2500
The wide shot is done with the Canon EOS 80D and the Canon 10-18 cheapo lens
The semi wide shot was done with the Fujifilm XT2 and the 18-55 f/2.8-4
All was edited in Premiere and some titling was done in after effects.
