A while back I bought the Blo Air-S contactless car dryer from Car Care Products. Here is what I think of it.
All in all it is great value for money. It is relatively light weight, easy to hold and manoeuvre and packs a bit of lunch for its size. The fact the air is warmed up to 25 degrees Celsius above ambient air temp also aids in drying time.
The chord is 5 metres long and not the 2.5-3m that I say in the video. This is long enough not to be in the way which is nice but you still need an extension to easily get around your car.
The Blo Air-S comes with 3 nozzle attachments. A conical shaped one and 2 flat shaped, one is wider and slightly more narrow. I used the widest one to do my entire car but with different applications, and experimentation I'm sure I will find use for the other 2, maybe inside wheels and arches etc.
The main issue I had with it is the part where your trigger finger sits. It can rub after prolonged use but that's about it.
For $159AU this unit packs a great punch and goes a long way to drying your car.
Is it the end for the old microfibre drying towel? I don't think so. I found myself going over panels slowly multiple time and watching the big drops get blasted away but anything smaller, even with a hydrophobic coating on top of a ceramic coat, the smaller droplets just got moved around and become smaller and smaller. I quick wipe of the panel with a good towel would finish it perfectly.
