This is probably the item that gets the most attention in my home automation setup.
It does give off a really cool effect, but out of the box it is unfortunately not suitable for home automation.

However, Fear Not! Here is my hack that I used to incorporate this item into all my home automation sketches. It was not hard to do and I think this guide will help you achieve the same results.
