Blender Grease Pencil Animation Tutorial for beginners. This is Part One of the 2D Character Creation series. In this video we will be Designing our 2D Character using @BlenderOfficial Grease Pencil.
For a while now a few of you guys have been telling me to check out the Grease Pencil and 2D Animation. Since my drawing skills are really poor, I was in no rush to use it.
A few weeks ago I thought I would try it out, even with my terrible drawing skills. I wanted to see if someone like me (again sucks at drawing but also had no previous experience creating 2D Animations) could create something that remotely resembles an animation.
Creating animations with the Grease Pencil is certainly possible, in fact there are loads of amazing animations being created with the Grease Pencil. Hero: youtu.be/pKmSdY56VtY just one of many beautiful examples.
If you have any kind of drawing talent you will have a much better time at it than I did. As with everything in blender, the Grease Pencil is such an awesome tool and I will certainly be using it more in the future.

In this Video we will be looking at the Quick Smoke Tool in Blender to achieve a Wispy smoke effect.
There are so many different settings to play around with, you can create many different results. If you make something cool with the smoke sim be sure to post a video or link in our facebook group.
I rendered this out with a small amount of samples and I use denoise (which did an okay job) but if this was for your own project, I would increase the samples to get a better result.

In this video we will be creating a stylized Sci-fi Planet Hard Surface scene. I wanted to create a gloomy/atmospheric surface with a bunch of mountains in the background. Along with some visual interest (in the form of a sphere). Since I used eevee it took less than a second to render each frame (though if you want to use cycles, then feel free to do so!).

In this video we will be looking at Version 1.1 of the Darkfall VFX Nodes Add-on.
In this first Update, I have made a few Minor changes to the UI and the Process. It took far too long before to scroll through the effects to find the one we want, so I have placed each Effect into its own Section.
Each node now has its own color to further make them unique and I have also set the Width of each node (saving you from resizing each time).
When you add in the Effect node (you no longer have to press Shift A, you can click the button and the node will be added), the current nodes in the compositor are no longer deleted.
There are some other small changes to this Face lift of an update but I think they had been needed and were certainly requested.
In this Update, I also added the Vignette Node, which is another common effect for Visual Effects.
I will be continuing to add new effects and also improving the add-on overall.

When shooting in locations you can not control, there is always the risk of having unwanted people or objects in your shot.
For example, we want a nice shot of the lighthouse and the water behind but there is a man in the way.
With a few Masks and some Nodes we can easily remove the problem and get the shot we want.
