Blake Lively was awarded over $400,000 in attorneys' fees and costs, a fraction of the $8 million she'd requested amid her and Justin Baldoni's settlement, according to docs obtained by E! News. A judge awarded the It Ends With Us actress $363,245.40 in fees and $44,206.35 in costs after determining she could recover reasonable expenses under California Civil Code Section 47.1, which protects good-faith communications about sexual harassment, assault or discrimination from defamation claims. Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman called the reduced award a “significant victory” for his clients, while Lively’s lawyers said the first-ever fees-and-costs award under the law was “historic” and demonstrated consequences for retaliatory lawsuits.
