Ellen Pompeo is scrubbing into a new ER on the small screen. The Grey's Anatomy star, who has played Dr. Meredith Grey for 22 seasons, is set to lead a new medical drama titled Not A Sound, according to multiple outlets. Except this time, instead of playing a powerhouse doctor with relationship troubles, Pompeo is taking on the role of a discharged ER nurse who loses her hearing after being involved in a hit-and-run. Not only that, the Good American Family actress’ character also discovers the body of one of her colleagues, leading her to be entangled in the show’s central mystery. It seems Pompeo will be working doubles in the hospital, as she has stated that she has no plans to leave Grey’s Anatomy permanently. However, she has also expressed gratitude for the chance to take on a reduced role that began in the show’s 19th season, as it allows her more time with her husband—music producer Chris Ivery—and her three kids, Stella Luna, Sienna May and Eli Christopher.
