In tonight's video we talk about blade steel and one of the many reasons we are crazy about quality.

The blade with the holes in it originally came into the shop on warranty for "fisheye" rust spotting but the blade integrity looked ok after cleaning. It was only after we ran this blade through our peening process that chunks of what I now believe to be carbide chunks, blew out of the surface of the substrate.

Once we took over our own finishing, these issues became apparent in new blades, which we pulled from production to avoid delivering them to customers. In finishing they look like raised bumps, as those chunks of material are harder than the surrounding substrate. Due to the high number of instances we encountered, it wasn't long before we discontinued using the CPM-20CV material.

Have a great night and apologies for all of the "Uhh". My brain gets fixated on a word and the more I try not to use it, the more my brain, uhhh, wants to use it. -Guy
