This is a blacksmithing video where I show you how to make a medieval style letter opener. It is medieval style because we keep the steel very raw looking. And in this video I show you several different techniques that a blacksmith commonly uses in forging and making things. We also take a look at the importance of the edge of the anvil. We commonly think of smithing as hammering hot steel on the flat top of the anvil but the edges of the anvil are very important and where a lot of the work happens.
