Black Winter are a Greek black metal band. They formed in 2000 and have since released the odd EP or split every now and then.
I checked this release out because someone sold it to me as black/death but I'm preeetty sure this is just straight up black metal. I'm not that well versed in bm so someone more knowledgeable in the comments can correct me. The 3 black metal tracks are nice, but once again I'm filtered by soft instrumental outros.

Before anything else, Im re-uploading this demo because it has come to my attention that the version I had previously uploaded was wrong. The last 3 tracks did not belong to Sacramentary Abolishment, but instead to Cremations The Flames of an Elite Age demo. That version is the most popular version online too. @NokturnalDementia seemed like the only person on youtube with a correct tracklist. So, this upload is a mix between 2 rips of the tape: the first half sounds really good and clean and the last 3 tracks are from another rip thats a little rougher, but it was the only way I found the correct tracks. Thanks to @nocanonizationrecords6392 for letting me know about the wrong upload.
Without further ado, my previous takes on the release, adjusted slightly in comparison with the original upload:
Sacramentary Abolishment were a Canadian death/black metal band that later became more well known under the name Axis of Advance, where they switched their sound to something closer to war metal. The band formed in 1993 and in 1998 the name change occured, having disbanded in 2007. They released 3 demos and 2 LPs under Sacramentary Abolishment, Misanthropy being their debut.
Honestly there is too much to be said about Sacramentary Abolishment, I could never fit everything in this description. Misanthropy is 28 minutes of..... Misanthropy! Theres no better word to describe it. The demo opens up with a terrific riff that hooks you up instantly, maintains that high energy throughout the whole runtime (even during the slower moments). An octopus behind the drums, a lunatic soul on vocals and meteoric hands on the guitars (not to talk about the underrated clean vox sprinkled in their music).
This band but a lot of highly praised names in the map, like Chris Ross from Revenge, Blood Revolt and Weapon, Paulus Kressman from Rites of Thy Degringolade, Sacrilega and a Weapon too, and, after the name change, would feature the one and only J. Read. Legendary band start started with a incredibly solid demo that surprisingly wasnt up on youtube already. Check out River of Corticone after this if you are looking for more insanity.

Necrophile, from Bulgaria, play gore-ridden deathgrind. Sadistic Murder was their first demo, released back in 1997, after which they disbanded until 2021, when they got back together, started touring again and released an album in 2022.
Being a deathgrind demo from the late 90s, you gotta expect these guys to do a couple of things: include songs that are supposed to be just jokes, play a 5 second song, love either Carcass, Anal Cunt or Repulsion, include real gore on the cover and go super hard on their real songs - Necrophile checks all boxes! Disgusting and lo-fi, when it hits it hits hard!

Windbreed were an American death metal band, yadda yadda, I have all the info on my last video, wont repeat myself.
The oddly fitting vocals heard on their previous demo Into the Breed are still here (and possibly weirder). Windbreed definitely had a more solid sound on this EP, plus they got beefier. Its an upgrade from their last output, you got nothing to lose if you listen to this.

Bloody Ritual were a French death/thrash metal band. Active from 1990 to 1994, theyve only released 2 demos, the first of which being Knowledge of Shadow.
These guys still channel very well that feeling of late 80s death-leaning thrash metal, stuff like Death, Massacra, Amon (pre-Deicide) or Necrophiliac, for example. Very raw, very fast, super thrashy and, most important of all, very ammateurish... Just the way I like it!

Necrolord are an American death metal band. Formed in 92, they have released 6 demos, 9 EPs and 10 LPs (very prolific band). Kingdom of Hell was their second demo (if anyone has the Feeding on Christians demo and wouldnt mind sharing please send me an email) and it features very beefy guitars with very by the numbers riffage - and that doesnt mean its bad, I actually dig this a lot. If you are into thick death metal from New York dont sleep on this band.

D.V.C., aka Darth Vaders Church, were an American death/thrash metal band. Formed in 88 and broken up in 93, the band debuted with this demo and their first LP in the same year, following it up with their last album in 1992.
Despite having one of the silliest band names I ever heard and not taking themselves seriously in the slightest, D.V.C. have some of the harshest, head-ripping riffs for the late 80s. Super fast, super creative and super catchy, even the instrumentals. Their whole catalogue, and especially their debut, is incredibly overlooked/underrated. Love this band so much.

Formed in 1994, Pandaemonium were a Dutch death metal band. Theyve released 1 demo and 2 EPs and then just disappeared from the map.
This demo is really interesting. They got wild riff patterns like its tech thrash or something, it closes with a 7min long epic and they would later turn to brutal death metal which is kind of a long shot from what theyre doing here.

Dirge were a Russian death metal band and were active from 1993 to 1997. The 7 tracks you hear on this demo was the only material they ever recorded.
Doomy death metal through and through, thats what you should expect from this. No frills, just riffs. Straight up. Think a bit of Autopsy, a bit of Cianide, a bit of and then make the audio super lo-fi.

Carnified are a Brazilian death metal band, formed in 1994 and still going strong to this day. In their first run, from 1994 to 2005, the band released 2 demos (this being the first one), 1 EP and a debut LP in 2001, after which the band took an hiatus, coming back in 2021 and relasing a 2nd LP in 2022.
A short and sweet demo, classic old style death metal. Honestly, theres not much to say about this one... Its death metal! Its good!

Ambivalency were a Czech deathgrind band. Formed in 93, this group released 2 demos before splitting up, Material for Improved Death being their debut.
If youre down for some unserious deathgrind with pretty unhinged vocals, this is for you. With the exception of the samples and some slower bits here and there, this demo is just silly moments followed by drum annihilating beats and down tuned guitars. Its surprisingly catchy!

Cerecloth were British death metal band. Formed in 92, they band only released this demo and a single in 1993, splitting-up in an unknown year. It was formed by Darren OHara, guitarrist for Malediction, another band whose demos Ive uploaded a while back.
Despite the diminute musical output, Cerecloth delivers. They are mainly pure death metal, but there are some unmistakably death/doom influences to their sound, like the atmosphere and some songwriting. The band also often uses some techniques that early Immolation loved to use, like those high-pitched guitar schreeches, and some ethereal organs taken from the already mentioned death/doom side. Without saying much more about this short but super sweet demo, the closer really rounds up the other 2 songs and finishes it off with a fitting end.
Also a cerecloth was a waxed cloth used for wrapping a corpse.
