The Black Noddy is a widespread species of Tern that nests in Colonies on the Barrier Reef Islands of Northern Queensland. The small nest is somewhat precariously built on a horizontal branch or fork. The breeding pairs make many trips out to sea to bring back fish for the hungry chicks. Colonies are noisy and smelly but fascinating to watch. I filmed these on Lady Elliot Island. Tim Siggs.ABVC.
