hitfilm died on me while making this. friendship ended with hitfilm now davinci resolve is (again) my best friend!!1!!! (davinci is so much better btw holyy shit. living life without paywalls and better preformance is awesome)

this was supposed to be a entry for a school contest but it got denied bc i wasnt told the theme :)
Daisydapple (the yellow cat) is a cat that strictly wanted to keep up with the norm because she believed it is the only to die happily and live a satisfying life. Its what everyone expects and how it should be, after all. One of the major goals to achieve what she believed was a fulfilling life was to have kits, but it took her way too long to find a mate. In the end, she got into a really distant relationship with Lizardstripe (Who is known to be a jerk and also only wanted to have kits with Daisy so she would shut up) and had Foxkit and Maplekit a few moons before her time at the elders den would have began.
Whilst Foxkit seemed to be exceedingly good at hunting and was deemed to be a fine warrior, Maplekit was more inclined to become a medicine cat and wasnt very well built for doing warrior duties (she was far too short and chubby, easily tired and constantly tripping over herself), which Daisy didnt like, as she expected her kits to become warriors because everyone elses kits have, its supposed to be that way . Instead of trying to convince her other kit to deny her dreams, she just decided to peacefully ignore her. Shed constantly bombard Fox with compliments and praises at every achievement, meanwhile when Maple did anything there was nothing, which caused her to view the medicine cat Frostmask as a parental figure more than her actual parents, and after she became an apprentice Maple barely ever spoke a word with Daisy. Lizard was even worse, as he thought that having a medicine cat daughter would absolutely shatter his dignity, and he proceeded to only insult and ignore Maple, throwing comments and denying she was ever his kin.
Moons passed, and tragedy struck when Maples ex friend, Jaggedfur, murdered three cats: the medicine cat Frostmask, the former leader and his own father Snakestep, and his former mentor Lizardstripe, whose murder was witnessed by Mapleleaf, which scarred her for life. With Frostmask dead, she was completely falling apart mentally and loosing her belief in Starclan (Which doesnt actually exist in this universe). Daisydapple (now an elder) also faltered greatly, as she could never have the fulfilling life now that her mate died. She even convinced herself that she wont be able to get into Starclan because of everything that went wrong, which caused her to grow paranoid and to become more hateful towards Maple, since in her eyes she was at fault for all this.
Desperate for someone to talk to, Maple had no choice but to speak to Daisy about what happened, and that conversation is this pmv :]

HIIII THESE GUYS ARE BACKK,, this was originally supposed to be a entry for a competition but. i had such a tight deadline and my physical health just rlly worsened when i was trying to get it so i had to give up on that :( but!! im still happy w how this came out :] esp since im still in the process of getting used to davinci again !!!

story expo:
so, tarantulapaw (the big fluffy cat), crocodilepaw (the spiky meaner cat) and sharkpaw (the last flompy looking cat) are a little friend group, however their friendship is not the most. healthy. as croc is an incredibly manipulative cat and both the other cats (esp shark) have fallen deep into her control. crocodile is also a cat whos in a constant search of thrill through risk-taking like breaking various rules set by her clan. but breaking rules also risks her into getting into trouble, hence why she would drag tarantula and shark into it with her - to shift the blame, dampen her punishments. and tarantula was the biggest victim of this blame shifting, as crocodile knew that hed just bottle up his feelings and accept what was given, and the rest of her overdramatic acting would win over the warrior who catches her in her shenanigans and grant her just a slap on the wrist most of the time.
however, her control over tarantula didnt last forever like she hoped. as moons passed, he lost his temper with it and finally confronted croc about it, which didnt end well and ended with him willingly seperating himself from the group. meanwhile, sharkpaw stayed, not understanding what went on as neither want to explain what happened. he also didnt realise that now, with tarantula gone, there is no one to at least mellow down the challenges croc wants to take on.
and that realization came to fruition when croc convinced shark without much effort to go into a deeper part of the lagoon, where smaller sharks would often frequent, all the while it was also flooding season. at one point, they got surrounded, and in order to get out of the situation alive, croc pushed shark into the water to serve as a distraction for her getaway. she hoped that hed die, and even when she managed to get back on stable ground, she made up a sob story of how she tried her best to help him get out of there. but shark survived, and he was mad. that perfect ideal of croc he had in his head had broken, and he was furious, he felt betrayed, he wanted her dead.
tarantulapaw (now tarantulajump) was also there when sharkpaw came out of the water, alive. hearing what croc had done, the last little bit of hope that crocodile could somehow become a better cat had broken and he was thoroughly disappointed that someone so cruel could even exist, and that he couldve been so foolish to have spent all this effort and emotion and pain on her.
when sharkpaw was found, tarantula tried his best to hold him back from attacking her, but after having his epiphany, after croc didnt bother to look back and just went on without remorse, he let shark slip from his grasp and do as he pleases. in his eyes, her murder was an act of justice to the world.
