Guilmon wanted his theme to sound ominous, with a heroic climax. I was stuck on this song for a really long time simply because I couldn’t think up a good ominous melody, and then couldn’t think up a good heroic melody. In the end, I’m quite happy with the “ominous” part, but I’m not as happy about the “heroic” part, since it’s less “heroic” and more just “generic upbeat melody”. Still, at least I managed to work in the earlygame reference. Also, Guilmon still isn’t a dragon.
