RickyRister | A Life that Reeks of Emptiness ~ Soul Stealing Void (Original) @RickyRister | Uploaded January 2019 | Updated October 2024, 19 minutes ago.
Conar approached me to compose a song for his S&Y secret Santa script 5 days before the deadline. I threw this song together in 3 days for him. I’m honestly surprised I even managed to finish in time.
Conar asked for a final boss theme similar to WNSP’s: something containing emotions of sadness, loneliness, and emptiness, and with a mysterious tone. You can clearly hear the influences from WNSP’s final boss theme in here.
Fun fact: Conar never told me who his secret Santa was ahead of time. Guilmon was the last person I excepted a theme like this to be for. The conversation after all the secret Santas were revealed went something like this:
Me: Wait, why did you want me to make an empty sounding theme for Guilmon?
Conar: Because Guilmon is empty on the inside.
Me: But why is the second half of the song so sad?
Conar: Because he’s sad.
Me: By the way, name your freaking song please.
Conar: Soul Seeking Void
Conar: idk
Guilmon: A Life Reek of Emptiness ~ Soul-Stealing Void
Me: …fine (geez, how edgy)
Me: Hey Kuro, on a scale of 1 to an actual vocaloid song, how vocaloid would you rate the end of the climax?
Tokiko: Sorry Ricky you went out of vocaloid and into pokemon mystery dungeon territory
Oh right, the end of the climax is total cheese. I have no idea why I decided to do that other than “because it would be funny.” I guess it gets me one step closer to my goal of wanting my style to end up falling somewhere between 11/文件 and Wanwan, just like how Tokiko’s style falls somewhere between Wanwan and Misora.
Tokiko: am I even that Wanwan
Me: Shut up, Kuro
“Fun had while composing” rating: 8/10
