Wizards and Warriors Channel fantasy animated documentary video series on the lore of Warhammer 40k Universe started with the coverage of the Horus Heresy (youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2Qq-rUSt7b3K84dXHVM-r_RVLzcJMbUk), but we decided to run a second series on the Black Crusades parallel to it. In the late 41st Millennium, Abaddon the Despoiler launches the 13th Black Crusade—Chaos’ greatest incursion since the Horus Heresy—aimed at shattering the Imperium by breaking the fortress world of Cadia. As Lord Castellan Ursakar Creed scrambles to regain void superiority, Imperial battlegroups race to relieve besieged worlds—only to stumble into brutal traps that trade victories for slaughter. Worse still, Erebus of the Word Bearers turns the shrine-world of Ibrium into a sacrificial engine, birthing Warp Storms that fracture communication and cripple coordination across thousands of light-years. Meanwhile, the Orks carve their own path of destruction in a “Green Kroosade,” seizing the forge world of Mordax—renamed “MoreDakka”—and strangling Imperial logistics. Then comes the nightmare confirmation: a Blackstone Fortress has entered the warzone. With the siege of the Cadian System escalating, Kasr Holn becomes a meat-grinder as Abaddon bleeds the defenders dry before unleashing the Black Legion. They would fight the Xenos, including the Orks and this episode featured the battle of Ullanor against an Orkish Waaagh (youtu.be/gb_MU14wDQg). The Primarchs grew dissatisfied when the militaristic side of the Imperium began waning in importance, and more power was given to normal humans. Many secretly broke the rules made by the Emperor, unknowingly opening themselves to the machinations of the Chaos Gods. While all this was happening, the newly appointed Warmaster, Horus Lupercal, struggled to keep his brothers in check and prove that he was a capable leader - the seeds of chaos were sown (https://youtu.be/ZHOF64R8tPk). Horus falls to Chaos due the plots of Erebus, leading to the Burning of Prospero, which was one of the greatest misunderstandings in the history of the Imperium leading to the fall of the Thousands Sons to chaos (https://youtu.be/GDyZ4T0G9ZI). He was now ready to begin the Civil War at Isstvan III (https://youtu.be/LfZBr9qCESw), and the victory there allowed the Traitorous legions to ambush the Loyalists at Isstvan V, leading to the dropsite massacre (https://youtu.be/SU_FA8MCnzQ). In the aftermath, Horus continued gaining ground, winning the battle of Phall and taking over a large chunk of galaxy (https://youtu.be/DiPvSex_u9A). Some loyal Legions, including the Dark Angels, just learned about the heresy and started making their moves, leading to the Battles of Chondax System, Alaxxes Nebula, Prospero and Signus Campaign (https://youtu.be/LifpyG97Xds), while on the side of the galaxy, the Fate of Ultramar was decided in the battles of Calth and Nuceria (https://youtu.be/gLbUDzaOjEY).
