Wizards and Warriors Channel fantasy animated documentary video series on the lore of Warhammer 40k Universe started with the coverage of the Horus Heresy (youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2Qq-rUSt7b3K84dXHVM-r_RVLzcJMbUk), but we decided to run a second series on the Black Crusades parallel to it. Ten thousand years after the Great Heresy, the galaxy burns again. In the late 41st Millennium, Abaddon the Despoiler launches the 13th Black Crusade—Chaos’ greatest incursion since the Horus Heresy—aimed at shattering the Imperium by breaking the fortress world of Cadia. As Lord Castellan Ursakar Creed scrambles to regain void superiority, Imperial battlegroups race to relieve besieged worlds—only to stumble into brutal traps that trade victories for slaughter. Worse still, Erebus of the Word Bearers turns the shrine-world of Ibrium into a sacrificial engine, birthing Warp Storms that fracture communication and cripple coordination across thousands of light-years. Meanwhile, the Orks carve their own path of destruction in a “Green Kroosade,” seizing the forge world of Mordax—renamed “MoreDakka”—and strangling Imperial logistics. Then comes the nightmare confirmation: a Blackstone Fortress has entered the warzone. With the siege of the Cadian System escalating, Kasr Holn becomes a meat-grinder as Abaddon bleeds the defenders dry before unleashing the Black Legion. From Creed’s desperate counterstroke to the Blood Angels’ savage battles against Khorne’s champions, this is the long road to Cadia’s breaking point.
