A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. Budakid presents Dreams Stretched Beyond, his debut album arriving July 3rd. The Dutch, Berlin based producer, DJ, singer, and multi-instrumentalist continues to build his music from the ground up, and with Flores, his own label, he has created a home to fully realise that vision.
Born into a musical family with Indonesian heritage, Budakid was a drummer long before he discovered drum machines. Rhythm came first and remains the core of his productions, while he later studied music theory for four years at the conservatorium. Later in his career he found the confidence to bring his voice more prominently into his work, and he as always produced and recorded all of his music himself.
The foundations for this new chapter, the album, were formed during a period when Budakid stepped away from everyday noise and spent several years living in the Alps. The isolation allowed him to tune out and go deeply into the creative process. Surrounded by mountains and quiet landscapes, he focussed on writing new music that would eventually become Dreams Stretched Beyond.
Launching his own label became another important step in that process. While he has released music on so many respected labels, the new album marks the first moment where his sound appears completely without compromise. Flores offers Budakid the freedom to express his personal identity fully and the confidence to finally release this milestone debut album after nearly twenty years in the music industry.
With over a thousand shows played across all continents, Budakids music stretches beyond the usual club format with a sound that has found support from a wide range of talent, including Adriatique, Hernan Cattaneo, Bonobo and Dixon. Parts of his catalogue released on labels connected to Sasha, Max Cooper, Solomun and Guy J, yet, it took nearly twenty years before he felt ready to present a debut LP, reflecting the long and often unpredictable path of building a life in music.
Album single Endless reflects the uncertainty that comes with choosing a life in music. Budakid sees this as a sense of moving forward without guarantees, falling endlessly into whatever direction the future may hold. When someone shares that fall beside you, it becomes easier to keep moving.
Endless is a reflection of what it is like being an artist. Almost blindfolded, we fall endlessly into wherever destiny may take us. Are we good enough? What does the future bring for us? There is an endless vagueness and insecurity that comes with this artist lifestyle. No certainty, only our own energy and motivation to move endlessly forward. It is like the act of breathing. The first lyrics express that train of thought. The second part is more about wishing for hope and security.

Last year’s event, the inaugural Balance Croatia 2025 won the Ambassador Award for Festival of the Year. To get you in the mood for what’s shaping up to be another incredible Balance Croatia, from 3rd July you can own This Is Balance Croatia 2026, this amazing 33 track official festival compilation.
This Is Balance Croatia 2026 is a wide angled snapshot of the incredible music you’ll hear at the festival. The compilation features over thirty artists; every single one is on the lineup. Every artist either a major player in the progressive house scene, or a rising artist currently turning heads. Progressive House is being embraced by a whole new generation, and Balance Croatia is at the forefront.
Curated as both a reflection of the festival’s musical identity and a document of the wider progressive community, the compilation showcases material from a broad cross-section of artists spanning more than 10 countries.
Among the contributors are long-standing scene figureheads Hernán Cattáneo, Anthony Pappa, D-Nox and Kasey Taylor & Gai Barone, alongside respected underground operators and rising talents including GMJ & Matter, Kamilo Sanclemente, Maze 28, Matthew Sona, Mike Rish, Rocio Portillo, Amonita, Dowden and many more.

Hidden Empire follow up last year’s Truesoul debut with the impressive two-tracker ‘No Rules’.
The German duo signalled their arrival on Drumcode’s little brother imprint last spring with the strong ‘Disco Future Rave / Switch it Up’, seamlessly blending house, techno, EBM and electronica. Their return offering to Truesoul is no less captivating.
Born during a late-night studio session, ‘No Rules’ is a massive, chugging electro beast that’s driven by a sinister synth line and robotic vox sample and feels simultaneously organic and futuristic. “Our aim was to capture the mindset of both the creator and the dancer. It’s about that moment when the music takes over on the dancefloor and nothing else matters - just movement, freedom, and raw emotion,” they share.
‘Born to Rave’ taps right into our diehard addiction to raving and is a rolling dancefloor cut built around a cool synth line and commanding vocal. “It’s for the ones who feel most alive between basslines and flashing lights. It’s about unity in the crowd, losing yourself and finding freedom on the dancefloor,” Hidden Empire share.
