I watched the first ever Artemis Fowl teaser trailer...and that's it. Really forgot it was coming out until my brother yesterday so innocently reminded me this was on Disney+.
Oh it sucks. Steaming, flaming pile of crap seasoned with bland acting and every flavor of exposition imaginable.
Adding in stuff that wasn't remotely in the book, such as some chap called Beechwood and some thing called an Aculos, then you have a plot so stuffed full of...stuff that we don't have time to flesh out characters.
And Judi Dench plays Root....no one told me this.
I heard this movie was in development hell for a long long while, and it really shows. I just wanna know who looks at a book, decides to make a movie out of it, but then decides to change 60% of it. So much got cut out, especially scenes from the trailer, and I wanted to watch that whaling ship scene so bad, but nope. Artemis sits on his butt and reads for, like, the first 30 minutes.
Also Artemis surfs...unforgivable.
All this is kinda related to my Booktube content, so yeah. Enjoy. I hope you appreciate that I technically had to watch this movie THREE times to make and edit this!
