From George Washington to Grover Cleveland to Joe Biden here's a listing of all of the Presidents by their birth state. Out of fifty states only twenty-one have been home the home state to a president. Virginia and Ohio have by far produced the most United States Presidents.
Many of the Virginia Presidents are from the Virginia dynasty comprised of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe. The last Viriginia born American president was Democrat Woodrow Wilson.
Ohio is a close second with seven total presidents. Some of the presidents born in Ohio include William Howard Taft, Ulyesses S. Grant and William McKinley. Almost all of the Ohio presidents were elected in the later half of the 1800s.
In more recent decades Presidents have been from a wider variety of states. Ronald Reagan was from Illinois, Barack Obama from Hawaii and Jimmy Carter from Georgia.
The West has produced very few presidents as many of these states were admitted into the United States later.
