He discusses how biomarkers of inflammation may help identify novel prediabetes and diabetes subtypes. Furthermore, he highlights how biomarkers of inflammation may contribute to differences in disease progression and treatment response leading to more personalised approaches in diabetes prevention and care.
As people with diabetes and depression show a large heterogeneity in response to anti-depressant treatment, biomarkers of inflammation may help in predicting response to interventions.
