I love Kaito Kid so much I would literally die for him, so of course I had to make an animation about him! I finished the Magic Kaito anime a while back and it’s so fun to watch a teenager mess with everyone around him, including the police and some random first grader (who claims to be a detective? Yea sure dude).
This animation was meant to be done for halloween, but seasonal depression hit me like a truck and then acnh 2.0 dropped and cured it, luckily i havent bought the dlc yet, otherwise this still wouldnt be done... lmao
I tried to go out of my comfort zone a little with the backgrounds and they came out pretty neat I think! I drew all the perspective lines by hand, then I found out that Krita has perspective options… that’s fantastic I totally didn’t spend like 4 or 5 days on the first background
Other than that I’m very happy with how the animation turned out! The laugh is a bit too exaggerated and snappy in the first few shots, but I don’t have the energy to fix that oops, at least the rest turned out pretty nice and it doesn’t loop too much! hooray

I’m currently rewatching jojo (am currently about halfway done with part 4) and I am miserable why did I think this would be a good idea
While I am back in a hyperfixation I dont plan to make that much jojo content anymore, although I do want to make some pmvs or animation memes for it well see

Anyway about the part, this was so much fun to make! Tweening in general is always neat to do, especially with tons of squashing and stretching. Also my first time tweening some walk cycles! It was surprisingly easier than doing one frame by frame and I love how bouncy they came out
I tried out a more cartoony style too and while it is very much based on the Thoth comic book style, I still wanted this to be recognizable to my own style, I hope it is ahaa

Traditional animation was harder than I thought :O I have so much respect for traditional animators right now. It was super fun trying out something new, but it was also really frustating, cause I lost motivation very quickly and my cat decided it would be a great idea to lay on my paper while I was drawing. Im just gonna stick to digital animation.

So lately I havent been able to work on anything, not because I wasnt motivated but because life happened. A lot has changed for me and I wasnt prepared for it. People who dont even properly know me have decided how I would live my life and taken me away from home. Thats basically what that vent is about. I made it with a crappy laptop they luckily allowed me to have
My parents didnt give up though and fought for me to get back home and it worked. Im back home again, ready to go to art school. No dumb old people deciding over me again.
