I've always had a problem keeping my monopod-tripod with attached smartphone stable if placed in grass or on other non totally flat surfaces. This happens because the small set of tripod legs that came with the monopod/selfie stick aren't broad enough to provide good stability. What to do? Answer: use sandbags. So, I figured out a way to make a pair of sandbags that will be light and portable, yet heavy enough (when filled) to keep the monopod-tripod upright!
To record this episode, I attached the new $13 Neewer smartphone ND filter to my iPhone 7 Plus. This allows me to set a constant 1/48 second shutter speed in FilmicPro (double the frame rate of 24fps), yet darken the lens enough so the scene is not overexposed. (Note: you will notice a glare on right side of frame caused by the filter, since I, apparently, did not place it on the iPhone correctly!)
