Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates recently sat down with CNN's Anderson Cooper for his first television appearance since giving a closed-door testimony before the House Oversight Committee regarding his connections to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. During the interview, Gates firmly denied having a social relationship with the convicted sex offender, stating he did not meet any women through him. Gates explained that he held a "misguided view" that Epstein could help facilitate raising philanthropic funds for global health initiatives, a decision he now calls a "gigantic mistake". Cooper also pressed Gates on unverified allegations from draft emails written by Epstein in 2013 that suggested an attempt at blackmail. Gates clarified that he was unaware of any blackmail plans at the time and that Epstein never successfully blackmailed him, adding that the situation only highlighted how foolish he was to spend time with the disgraced financier.
