Bili Redd Thedford started singing gospel music professional as an original member of Andrae Crouch & the Disciples putting him at the center of the revolution in contemporary gospel music that would become known as the Jesus People movement in the 1960’s & 70’s. He would also earn grammy nominations for his work as a solo gospel artist after leaving the Disciples. After his death last week I put together this tribute to Bili and his music which includes a never before released recording of him singing, “He Looked Beyond My Faults”, with Andrae playing piano at the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
