Streetfilms® | Bikes vs Cars: Kent Ave, Brooklyn (Bike Lane Count!) @StreetfilmsCommunity | Uploaded May 2021 | Updated October 2024, 19 hours ago.
On May 19th, once again I set up my camera on a tripod and from 5 to 530pm recorded the number of users of the bike lane (minus walkers or runners) versus the number of cars, trucks and buses on the roadway.
For the first time in any of these "counts" the number of bike lane users defeated the road by a score of 235-234.
My hunch is if you did a count between 5 to 7pm the results would be even more dramatic. Or possibly during the weekend in the afternoon. The number of bikes in Williamsburg on a weekend is now reaching extraordinary levels!
