In this the fourth of my videos following pricklysauce.com build of, what I like to think of, as a bike wardrobe, I fix the door frame to the structural walls of the bike shed.
The roof is constructed with the ridge and purlins being thicknessed to sized.
A flat rafter is morticed and tennoned into each purlin to tie the end of the roof together.
OSB sheeting is cut in for the roof to be covered with mineral felt on site.
The exciting bit for me is the scaffolding that makes up the bike slider and the end post and braces.
I love industrial design and materials. There is something great about the heaviness of the poles and fittings and their robustness. So easy to bolt together. I ponder the possibilities that these materials could be used for for future bike stores and garden rooms.
The poles are cut and fitted to the structure and suddenly the nub of an idea is a reality, it looks just like the drawing.
