Politicians looking to maintain power should prioritize restoring and protecting people's rights rather than stripping them away. If they want the country to remain recognizable, they need to reverse the trend of eroding freedoms. The reality, however, is that many lawmakers don’t care about people’s rights, health, or well-being. In places like Oklahoma, policies are becoming increasingly cruel—one proposed bill even seeks to legalize teachers physically disciplining disabled children. This blatant disregard for human dignity underscores how little these legislators value the people they govern.
Beyond just Oklahoma’s shocking proposals, there’s an ongoing trend of enabling bigotry under the guise of religious freedom. Laws that shield Christian doctors from performing medical care they personally object to are being framed as protecting their rights, while completely ignoring the harm done to patients in need. The idea that a doctor should be allowed to refuse care based on religious beliefs is absurd, yet it continues to gain traction in certain states. These policies aren’t about freedom—they’re about enforcing one group’s beliefs at the expense of everyone else.

WHAT IS THE NON-PROPHETS?
The Non-Prophets is a internet show airing at 06:00pm Central time Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday each week. Where we navigate through current events, providing a secular viewpoint that adds depth to the unfolding narrative.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.
