This little stone shed will hopefully soon, become our home.
At the moment it’s hard to see it as a place to live, I mean the roofs coming off so we need to put on a new one.
The walls are falling down so we need to rebuild them.
The fireplace is about to fall down so we need to rebuild it.
The floor is mostly dirt, so we need to do something about that, and the doors, well they’re not even all working!
Ok folks if you’re following along you’ll know we are currently renovating this old stone cottage here in Ireland, and the goal is to be moved in by Christmas, and I think that’s doable in here, so this is gonna be our bedroom, kitchen and diner, we did a lot of work in here last year but there’s a lot to do,
new roof, plaster all the walls, build a couple of new ones, full rewire, plumbing, heating, floor, windows and doors, log fire and of course an actual kitchen.
And I think we can probably do that, but we’d love to have a living room too. That’s gonna be in the old shed. So we are at least gonna make a start, get it prepped, so we can jump onto it and see how we go.
This week we make major progress on our stone house restoration, attacking the little stone shed that will hopefully become our home!
We also expose all the old stone walls of the whole cottage, think stone cabin vibes, and we single handedly shift 10 tonne of stone, ONE BY ONE, as we take down the unstable wall!
The transformation is crazy and the house looks so different, you can really start to see the craftsmanship of the traditional stone masonry, and she is BEAUTIFUL!
