One of my favorite shots to animate in the film — and also one of the rare times I filmed reference. After my sketch pass, the Directors gave a note: instead of the balloon arm landing once, they wanted a straight arm constantly hitting Tadashi. I wasn’t sure it would work, so I shot reference to understand the idea… and it ended up MUCH funnier.

This shot is a great reminder why collaboration matters — every department contributes, from story all the way through lighting.
