A complex shot from Disney's Zootopia featuring Bellwether's reveal alongside multiple supporting characters.
This sequence presented several animation challenges, including a moving camera, staging a large group of characters, and maintaining a clear focal point throughout the shot. With more than ten characters sharing the frame, careful planning was essential to ensure the audience's attention stayed on the key story moment.
The shot began with a rough 2D sketch pass to explore the choreography, composition, and character performances before moving into stepped animation. From there, the animation was refined and polished before being handed off to lighting, rendering, and the rest of the production team.
