This is one of my favorite Hawaiian songs. I composed the background track using Band-in-a-Box 2010.5 with a bit of a soft jazz style. The track is freely available on my website link below.
I tuned my 8th string from "F#" up one tone to a "G" note so I could play some 7th chords, which you can hear clearly . This would be the same as using a Bb on the C6th tuning. You can hear nicely how the G note works in this song. It's good to know. The Tuning I used for this song, from treble to bass is: E - C# - A - F# - E - C# - A - G
I'm playing through a Fender 1965 Fender reissue, Princeton Reverb, tube amp, with a 10-inch speaker. I love the heat that this amp generates from the glowing tubes. I think tube amps are awesome and sound so much better than solid state or digitial.
