In this episode of 1Dime Radio, I am joined by philosopher and writer Daniel Tutt, who recently co-authored the book The People Are Not One: Socialist Strategy After Left Populism. We discuss why left populism failed, whether socialism can avoid populism, Bernie Sanders and the problem of recuperation, Trump and Bonapartism, the difference between populism and democracy, working-class “common sense,” Gramsci vs. Machiavelli, and the widening class divide between the contemporary left and the people it claims to represent.
