Celebrating the release of Stella Donnelly's album, Beware of the Dogs, here's my cover of Beware of the Dogs!!! Album dropped today, you can check it out on Spotify!

This cover is based off the Tiny Desk performance. I haven't gotten to listen to the whole released record yet, but I did listen to the studio version of Beware of the Dogs off the record and I don't like it as much, the vocals just don't sound as raw as the Tiny Desk but oh well! I'm sure I'll enjoy the heck out of the rest of it! However, this song is my favorite from the Tiny Desk performance overall! We will see how it contends with
the rest of the album! hahaha

What happened with this recording session was that I had been practicing with the video directly for most of the 2 hours so I had finally got the exact timing and notes in the recording, covering all harmonies and melodies, but after listening to it back I realized that it didn't sound nearly as good like that with just my keyboard versus Stella's awesome vocals and guitar so even after I got the perfect recording of it as per exact copy of the Tiny Desk performance, I scrapped it ;_; and just did a few more runs with just listening to the piano aaand now here we are! It's not perfect - to be honest, since I've already had this one ready to record for 3 weeks
for the timing of the Tiny Desk performance, I wasn't going to spend more time running this through just keyboard cover. Also, trust me on this one, it sounds better this way than if I played it true to the performance but only on piano. Anyways, it's time to MOVE ON TO THE NEXT PROJECT! But this was very fun and I'll probably end up covering more Stella in the future, her songs are just too catchy. I am doing this to improve my ear right now so the more projects the better.

Recording time 2 hours total, most of it spent recording something I scrapped :) Chords figured out 1 week after Tiny Desk performance came out but didn't feel like recording lololol. With my jazz concert complete and the debut of the album, I knew it had to be TODAY though!
