Between East and West – a ten-episode webinar series featuring the world-renowned Jerusalem Orchestra East & West, In collaboration with the Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies and the Department of Music at the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design at York University, Toronto, Canada, and with the support of the Azrieli Foundation. Viewers are invited to enter the fascinating world of the orchestra and its unique work, combining classical traditions of music from the Middle East with the conventions of Western classical music through enlightening explanations and immersive performances with guest artists.
Episode 3 is dedicated to Spanish Flamenco music. We will explore the origins of this magnificent musical style, which has been associated with Spain since the late 18th century. Through the stories of two key figures - Camarón de la Isla and Paco de Lucía - we will illustrate flamenco's rhythmic and passionate essence and even offer a taste of it live on stage.

בפרק 3 שיעסוק במוזיקת הפלמנקו הספרדית, נחקור את מקורות הסגנון המוזיקלי הנפלא שמזוהה עם ספרד מאז סוף המאה ה-18. בעזרת שתי דמויות מפתח – קאמרון דה לה איסלה ופאקו דה לוסיה – נמחיש את הסגנון הקצבי והחושני הזה וניתן גם טעימה על הבמה.
