Hi fam! I feel like it's been a minute. I've been traveling so of course that means no cooking. I made this delicious peppered beef and broccoli in between travels. At this point, you know I always say I like color in my food and that's what inspired this take on classic beef and broccoli. I have mentioned previously that I eat beef only when sourced from our local farmers because it needs to be organic, grass fed and finished. You can use skirt steak or tenderloin sliced into thin strips. You can leave out the peppers if you just want the classic dish. Serve this over brown or white rice, quinoa, pasta or nothing 🤣. Enjoy and I'll catch you next time.
3 Tbsps oil (your choice)
About 1lb of broccoli cut, washed and blanched
1lb of sliced beef (tenderloin or skirt steak) cut into thin strips
A mix of bell peppers (about 1/4 of each) cut into strips
1 medium onion cut into large pieces
2 cloves of garlic, pressed or finely chopped
1 Tbsp grated ginger
2 tsps crushed red pepper (to taste)
1 Tbsp organic corn starch
1 Tbsp black pepper (to taste)
Toasted sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Sauce: (mix together)
2 Tbsps dark sauce + 1 Tbsp regular soy sauce (or 3 Tbsp regular if you don't have dark)
1 Tbsp oyster sauce
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp sesame oil
