I made this sanding block over a year ago as a quick Bitesize build — and I’ve used it on so many projects since. The trick? It uses a belt sleeve instead of sandpaper sheets, which means it lasts longer, sands smoother, and doesn’t tear up halfway through the job.
In this video, I’m slowing things down to show the full build. This dowel-tensioned sanding block with curved ends is simple to make, and I’ll also walk you through a handy ejection jig. You can use the block by hand or chuck it in a vise — and because it rotates, you actually use the entire belt before tossing it, unlike most sanding blocks where half the grit goes to waste.
