The prison escape trial involving convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester is set to run from 19 April to 18 June next year. Bester and his co-accused were back in the Free State High Court today, where the matter was adjourned for plea and trial. Bester, his girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana and others, are accused of helping him fake his death in a fire and escape from Mangaung Prison in 2022. The court appearance got off to a rocky start due to Bester’s confrontation with a correctional service official over Bester's branded T-shirt. Newzroom Afrika's Refiloe Seboko reports.
