For the sixth episode of our highlights from the EASD Annual Meeting 2025 in Vienna series, we are joined by Romane Lartigue, a PhD student at the University of Bordeaux in France.

For Romane Lartigue, the EASD Annual Meeting 2025 was the first international scientific conference she attended, and it was an amazing experience for her that inspired her both personally and professionally.

Her personal highlights include:
- Opportunities to meet and interact with researchers from all over the world
- Giving her first presentation at an international conference of the size of the EASD Annual Meeting
- A session about drug/toxicity screening to precision medicine and what’s to gain from human tissue engineering for diabetes research
- The newly introduced ‘Lab Talks’ were researchers share their career path, how they organise their lab and give advice to the audience, especially early career researchers during an open discussion
