The best sunscreen for you is the one you want to wear everyday, all the time - something I've said since my first video on this topic and at the time (years ago), all-Mineral (Physical / Inorganic) sunscreens were not even a consideration for me as they were synonymous with a chalky, white cast and drying texture. Nowadays, these are some of the sunscreens I reach for all the time. Infact, the application of my favourites can rival the elegance of even my favourite non-Mineral sunscreens!
Enjoy some of my personal favourites! All of these are great for sensitive skin as none of them contain common irritants. I've mentioned that, as my skincare routine has been including more actives, I've found sunscreens with high concentrations of zinc oxide and alcohol to be intolerable and have caused inflammatory reactions. Which makes sense considering both are astringent ingredients (which makes them great for oilier skin types). My favourites from this video are all very gentle while still being powerful, and have not irritated my skin, not even while experimenting with retinoids. However, if I'm using a strong active the night before, the next morning, I would opt for a sunscreen with less than 15% zinc oxide.
Unfortunately, I can't speak for how these sunscreens will work on those of you who have skin tones that are much different from my own. Especially the ones that have a tint. Please keep in mind that they may vary in results, mineral sunscreens are tricky like that!
