The Bergamini-class frigates, part of the FREMM (Fregata Europea Multi-Missione) program, represent a collaboration between Italy and France to develop highly versatile warships for multiple mission profiles. The Italian Navy, or Marina Militare, commissioned these vessels with a focus on anti-submarine warfare (ASW), general-purpose (GP), and anti-air warfare (AAW) capabilities.

Expeditionary Operations: Supporting Special Forces and maritime interdiction missions.
