The BenQ TK860i is a hybrid projector for many use cases. While it never excels at any one thing in particular, the wide range of uses and good brightness will appeal to many users. It is not for critical movie viewing in a dark room, but for everything else, the TK860i offers good image quality for big-screen gaming, movies and sports in a normal living room environment with the lights off and curtains pulled.
*The Good*
Good calibrated image accuracy
Decent upscaling and video processing
Good motion for 24fps and 50Hz broadcast
Decent gaming performance
17.7ms input lag
Good smart TV
Good all-round performance for the money
*The Not So Good*
Blacks are light grey rather than black
Crushed blacks
Not HDR capable but is compatible with HDR sources
Lacks real contrast
Not for critical movie viewing
Noisy in HDR10 mode
