New year, and a new book for the reading group!

Davood, Daniel, and I are now discussing the New York Review of Books publication "Existential Monday: Philosophical Essays" by Benjamin Fondane, edited by Bruce Baugh. Today, we discuss the introduction to the collection and the first essay titled "Existential Monday and the Sunday of History".

We plan for the book to take maybe 2-3 discussions (it's on the order of above 80 pages), then we'll move on. Just as with the Hayden White discussions, we have tentatively planned our discussions to be biweekly. Please feel free to join in below with your own thoughts and contributions about the discussion we've having. All three of us believe dialogue - between us and between our viewership - is central to the understanding and appreciation of ideas.

We welcome your comments and input.
