Only one person in the world knows what it's like to go from uber-successful globe-trotting DJ to Alpine skier with Olympic Winter Games potential, and that's Benjamin Alexander.
The 38-year-old Brit, who is of Jamaican heritage, only started skiing six years ago but planned in precise detail how he could qualify for Beijing 2022 and become Jamaica's first Alpine skier. Somewhat surprisingly, his nomadic DJ lifestyle aided him in his quest. Furthermore, you'll never guess who's mentoring him? Only Dudley Stokes, one of the Jamaican bobsledders of Cool Runnings' fame.
Benjamin Alexander is a role model for many people in their late 30s and beyond. He is freshly back from the ski slopes of Beijing, where he became Jamaica's first Olympic alpine skier. Benjamin is a former international DJ and investment banker who only discovered his passion for the sport at 32, after a fortuitous encounter with friends.
