A new show from uniquely creative pianist and composer Belle Chen and visual artist Bobby Williams exploring London as a living entity through performance, field recordings and visuals.
The fast-rising Chen creates six original scenes in this AV show exploring our vibrant and diverse capital; each composition has its genesis in a field recording captured within London from both before, and during, the pandemic.
With re-imaginations of key works by classical composers who found inspiration from the city (including Handel and Elgar), folk melodies, original compositions, and improvisation across piano, synths, melodica, and found sound, Chen and Williams travel through key spots in the capital city, to explore the multi-faceted ‘voice’ of London today, while paying tribute to the city’s kaleidoscopic musical scene and history.
