I discovered that the DNV900HD night vision camcorder has an unadvertised external microphone input. When you plug anything into the AV Out jack, it shows a menu asking you "TV Standard", Microphone, or Earphone. If you press Microphone, it does work as an external mic jack, but it is only mono, and the external mic's audio is mixed with the internal mic! The earphone output plays through both channels, but only works during playback; it does not provide live audio monitoring during recording (just like any other cheap HD camcorder based on the Ambarella chip).
