A walk cycle requires balance and coordination. An action shot depends on momentum and timing. Lifting a heavy object demands convincing weight, force, and physical effort.

In Eugenia Gagarina's reel, Judy Hopps demonstrates clean locomotion and posing, Sonic showcases dynamic action and momentum, and a wolf character struggles to lift a heavy briefcase before tripping and losing his balance completely.

Although each exercise presents a different challenge, they all share the same goal: creating movement that feels clear, intentional, engaging, and grounded.
Body mechanics form the foundation for stronger acting, action, and character performance. Developing these skills helps animators create more convincing and engaging work across every type of shot.
