Since I have some videos with a lot of views that are hairdryer soundscapes, I decided to purchase 9 hairdryers on Amazon. I chose some of the most popular ones based on the number of reviews, sales, or reputation.
So, some were affordable dryers with high sales, and others were more exclusive, like the Dyson hairdryer that costs around $400.
I recorded every single one of them with the Neumann KU100 binaural microphone, which has the shape and density of a human head, making the 3D sensation incredibly realistic. This is a $9,000 microphone.
Among the dryers I bought, one of them caught my eye because it seemed to be just a diffuser for curly hair. Turns out, that's its purpose – it's just a diffuser with a built-in motor, so you don't need a full hairdryer if you only want it for that.
I did an unboxing of that hairdryer and recorded a bit on how I set up the recordings for the hairdryer sounds of various brands.
For some reason, none of the videos gained traction, resulting in monetary losses on something that seemed like it would do well, given what the Acerting Art audience consumes.
This leads me to believe I might be shadowbanned, and my new videos are not getting reach, regardless of what I post. It's something I've noticed happening on my channel for a while, as if there's some sort of negative reinforcement discouraging me from uploading videos.
The strange thing is that no one tells me anything. No one says whether the videos are good or bad; they don't violate any guidelines. But then, suddenly, my whole channel gets demonetized without even an email warning, claiming that I use reused content. This can only be from Creative Commons content I uploaded over 10 years ago, which was completely allowed at the time and makes up only a small fraction of my channel's total videos.
Even when I appealed the demonetization decision, they rejected it, stating that they can't verify if I'm the content owner because I don't appear in the videos.
So now, I'm uploading videos that include moments before and after, featuring me or content that only I could have, to prove that I own the videos on my channel.
I hope this will allow my channel to be monetized again so I can continue uploading content as we've been doing for over a decade.
