Did you know that ICP now has a permanent Classic Model 11 Analog Photo Booth? But how does a classic analog photobooth actually work?
Photobooth operator Danielle Krasniqi (@iliria), lead technician with Classic Photo Booth (@classicphotoboothusa), takes us behind the curtain to share the history of the booth and explain how it produces its signature strip of four chemically developed photographs.
Owned and installed by Max and Classic Photo Booth, the Model 11 is maintained onsite at ICP by Danielle.
You can try the booth for yourself anytime in ICP’s free ground-floor space.
Danielle will also take part in ICP’s sold-out September 21 screening of the new documentary “Spirit of the Photobooth,” marking 100 years since the opening of Anatol Josepho’s first photobooth studio in New York City.
Missed tickets for September 21? ICP is offering a bonus screening of “Spirit of the Photobooth” on November 14 from 1–2:30 PM.
The documentary explores the history of the photobooth, its role in photographic culture, and the resurgence of classic analog booths around the world.
