Join Darley Newman in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she discovers the powerful participatory public art project “Before I Die” in the ViBe Creative District.
Created by artist Candy Chang, the “Before I Die” project has grown into a global movement with more than 5,000 walls in over 75 countries. The installation invites people to reflect on what they want to do in life and share their personal goals openly in public space.
At the ViBe Creative District wall, visitors write everything from travel dreams like going to Japan and Bora Bora to personal aspirations such as falling in love. The artwork serves as both a creative expression and a reminder to think intentionally about how we want to live each day. Darley reflects on how meaningful it is to see this installation in multiple cities and how it encourages people not to wait to pursue the things that matter most.
From public art to personal reflection, the “Before I Die” wall is a global reminder to live fully and intentionally.
