The journey begins at the historic Palmer House Hotel in Chicago, where Darley tries the famous brownie, believed to have been created there in the 19th century near the starting point of Route 66.
Next, Darley visits Docs Just Off 66, a longtime favorite known for ice cream, milkshakes, and an original soda fountain that has been operating since 1930.
Further down the road is the legendary Ariston Cafe, one of the oldest restaurants on Route 66. Known for prime rib, iconic dessert trays, and its award-winning pork tenderloin sandwich, it remains a must-stop dining destination.
Darley also visits Cozy Dog Drive-In, home of the famous Cozy Dog, a Route 66 classic with its own place in roadside food history.
The final stop is Twistee Treat Diner at The Pink Elephant Antique Mall, where Darley tries a specialty tornado ice cream treat after exploring the retro shopping destination.
